On 29 July 2026, Amnesty International Ghana met with the Ministry for Gender, Children and Social Protection to advance the Anti-Witchcraft Accusations Bill and strengthen protections for persons affected by witchcraft accusations.
Discussions covered the current status of the Bill, the vulnerabilities faced by accused persons, and emerging concerns within alleged witch camps — alongside opportunities to reinforce safeguards for those affected.
This engagement is part of Amnesty Ghana’s ongoing advocacy to end the human rights abuses linked to witchcraft accusations. We remain committed to working with stakeholders to secure legal protections and safeguard the rights, dignity, and safety of vulnerable individuals.
