Hannah is a dynamic human rights advocate and development practitioner with extensive experience in programme design, implementation, facilitation, and monitoring, particularly in the areas of human rights, gender equality, and youth empowerment. She has a proven track record of leading strategic initiatives, building partnerships, and driving impactful advocacy to advance social justice and inclusive development.
Prior to her current role, Hannah served as the Head of Programmes at Amnesty International Ghana, where she led strategic programme development and implementation, strengthened stakeholder engagement, and provided leadership in programme management. Her professional journey also includes more than a decade of experience in Human Rights Education and Activism coordination, equipping her with a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership, and people-centred approaches to development.
Hannah holds an MPhil in Peace and Development Studies from the University of Cape Coast, a Professional Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and is an IFC-LPI TPMA (Trainer Performance Learning and Assessment) Certified Trainer.
Her leadership is grounded in a deep commitment to advancing the rights of women and girls, with a particular focus on preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based violence. Through the design and implementation of targeted interventions, she has promoted safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environments while empowering young people to become agents of change.
Throughout her career, Hannah has demonstrated exceptional communication, coordination, and relationship management skills. She has represented Amnesty International on regional and international platforms and successfully cultivated partnerships with Amnesty entities and external stakeholders to advance shared human rights objectives.
Driven by a passion for justice, equity, and human dignity, Hannah combines strategic leadership with strong technical expertise in results-based programming, advocacy, facilitation, and organisational development. As Country Director of Amnesty International Ghana, she leads the organisation’s strategic vision, leveraging advocacy, partnerships, and evidence-based programming to advance human rights while contributing to transformative change.
