” Regarding the #StopGlamaseyNow demonstration held on 21st September and 22nd September 2024, we have received news that several protestors have been detained and not able to exercise their basic human right of accessing legal representation. As a matter of urgency, we call upon the leadership of the Ghana Police Service to respect the fundamental human rights of protesters and ensure the immediate release of all detained protesters. Only by fostering an environment where our rights to protest are protected can we strengthen our democracy and build trust between the state and its citizens.
