Understanding Amnesty International Ghana’s Strategy for 2026-2030 makes it a great tool to set focus and priorities for a collective movement. Here is a comprehensive roadmap designed to advance human rights in Ghana through six strategic goals:

1. Sustain effective governance: Strengthen governance processes, build governance capacity, and improve corporate compliance to ensure transparent and accountable institutions.
2. Improve financial sustainability: Increase fundraising income by 20% of RAM, enhance financial management practices, and invest in capacity and quality to secure the organization’s future.
3. Improve people management: Advance equity, diversity, and inclusion; retain a skilled team; and strengthen organizational culture and staff wellbeing for a motivated workforce.
4. Secure and expand the civic space: Expand civic engagement opportunities, support the “protect the protest” campaign, and monitor police compliance with rules of participation in protests to safeguard freedoms.
5. Promote gender, racial and intersectional justice: Advocate for legal reforms for fairer outcomes, ensure full implementation of the Affirmative Action Act, and lead Human Rights Education (HRE) on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) to empower marginalized groups.
6. Be locally relevant: Support smart legal reforms, prevent human rights abuse, and promote social and economic inclusion tailored to Ghanaian contexts for meaningful impact.
Through this strategy, Amnesty International Ghana aims to foster a just society where human rights are protected and respected.
